Tisha's Buttercream Frosting

Today's recipe of the day is from a friend of Legends, Icons and Role Models and it is sure to touch your sweet tooth in a major way. I don't think there is one person who doesn't like some type of sweets or at least the smell of something baking.

To see it all come from the hands of a person who knows exactly what they are doing is an exciting task. As a tyke, I relished in the excitement of waiting as my grandmother mixed the ingredients into a bowl and I got instant joy from receiving the bowl with the remnants of icing and batter.

My Twitter Sister, Tisha Joiner, also known as "Tisha Cakes" has gifted LIR with a sweet and simple delight that I am sure will cause joy from all who try it.

Ingredients:
Two sticks salted real butter
One stick Crisco shortening
One teaspoon vanilla extract
Two 1lb. Boxes of confectioners sugar
4 tablespoons of milk
Viking Professional, Kitchen Aid or other heavy duty mixer.

Cream shortening and butter together until well whipped.
Scrape down sides of bow.
Add vanilla extract, let whip until mixture is almost white in color.

While the mixer is on start/slow speed, add sifted confectioners at a small amounts at a time. Once sugar is in, add the milk and turn mixer up one speed at a time up until high. Once fluffy, you are done. You can exchange lemon extract for the vanilla and change milk to lemon juice for lemon frosting or orange extract and orange juice.

I bet you that you can't deny yourself the pleasure of making this sweet concoction!
