Iconic Sisters Forever

Today's video of the day comes from a group that everybody knows and should know. As a kid I loved anything that the Pointer Sister's released and I immediately thought they were a new group scene.

In my memory I remember telling my uncles, who were in my age bracket ,that there was a new group on the scene. However, once my uncles placed their eyes on the television screen, they instantly bobbed their heads and got to grooving. I was shocked to find out that the Pointer Sisters had been around for a while.

Fresh out of Oakland, the Pointer Sisters took off in a blaze of glory and never stopped releasing hit and hit. My personal favorite was June Pointer, she was a powerhouse singer who had soul and great stage presence.

From the hit "Slow Hand" all the way up to the seductive "Baby Come and Get It", the Pointer Sisters had their hands on the pulse of society for the entire 70s,80s and the mid 1990s. I recently fell in love all over again with this amazing group and have found remastered music online that consist of the original five member group.

Check out these videos of the sisters in their element along with a live band. You can certainly see that they were young, excited and realized they were on to something great.



Sadly, June Pointer passed away and although she is not here, she is shining bright right along with her sisters in these Iconic videos.
