We are almost twelve hours into 2011 and have we got some soul for your ears and eyes. There is not a person in my circle who doesn't know about my love for good quality soul music. From the most recent R&B musical releases to those from yesteryear, I am always tuned in to the best of the best.

One of my clearest memories is that of my mom jamming the sounds of Sister Sledge. This group of sisters from Philadelphia always gave us smooth soulful jams. One of my favorite joints He's The Greatest Dancer was always on repeat. The sisters consisted of Kathy, Kim, Debbie and Joni and they gave us hits such as We are Family, Reach Your Peak and many more.

They are still performing throughout the country and often can be seen still two stepping with the fancy footwork. Check out a vintage video of the sisters performing this jam and be sure and check out the groovy footwork.
