Kathy Sledge ~ "Taking Us Back To Love Again" - Legend

"Where are the legends of the music industry?", this phrase is something that me and my friends have been discussing for months now. We are living in a time where real music seems to have come to a standstill and it is frustrating.



This blogger can still remember the time when my mother would put on a good record and we would instantly get up and dance. There were no gimmicks, scandals or the like, simply real talent and good music. Our friends over at Grown Folks Music are always in convo tweets via Twitter about the absence of real performers.

You had to know that I instantly turned on my itunes selections and on came one of my favorite singers Kathy Sledge. I can still remember her not only performing with her fame sisters but Kathy branching out and making inroads for herself.

One of my favorite selections from her Take Me Back To Love Again was my mothers jam back in the day. I was shocked to find her right under this bloggers Internet nose on all the social networks and I must testify that Kathy is still performing and looking just as youthful as ever.

Her one woman stage show Brighter Side of the Day is garnering rave reviews as she pays homage to the late great Dame Billie Holiday. Not only is she performing but Kathy is doing the work of a Role Model by embracing those that are hurt and encouraging them to live a life of victory in the form of the Love Will Project.

The next generation of the Sledge dynasty are making amazing music and performing in various arenas to sold out crowds just like their parents.
