I can still remember my mom being glued to the screen of her favorite nighttime soap Knots Landing on a weekly basis.  There had to be no movement once her show came on and me and my sister knew why. One of her favorite couples was that of Gary & Valene Ewing played to perfection by Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark.
