LIRM Lifestyle ~ My Love Story with Modern Roof Decks
For those who love the rain, we salute you but we personally would love a serious roof deck experience to bring our hectic day to an end. Growing up in the southern boot of Louisiana there were not alot of options nor experiences to hang out on the roof of modern apartment buildings.
As the world has turned and we have began to embrace the cooler things of life, we find that many homeowners have opted for more modern places to hang out and rub elbows. In the bigger metropolitan cities such as New York and California, one can often find the young socialites enjoying a nice glass of wine on the roof deck of their choice.
Not to be left out by any means, the baby boomers are just as hip when it comes to the roof deck experience. Just imagine coming to the end of your work week and all you can think of is inviting over some cool friends, sending the children to a nice movie and shooting the breeze with you hilarious neighbors.
I can only imagine the breeze that is coming off the ocean as your spouse prepares a nice dinner for the guests. In this bloggers mind, they are eager to have dinner but are just as fine as they shoot the breeze from a list of things including today's news, raising a family and the challenges of being successful.
Growing up in Houston, Texas my grandparents owned a beach house on Galveston Beach and it was there that this blogger fell in love with a super cool roof deck. I can still smell the cool breeze off the ocean as the sun went down on a fantastic day. Me and my grandmother would walk the beach and discover seashells and before you knew it, my grandfather was beckoning for us from the roof deck.
Being that they are no longer with us, I am so grateful for the memories of them and the experiences that they worked hard to give me. Whenever I find myself missing them I know that my memories of us on the roof deck of our summer home will hold me until I can make them proud by purchasing my own.
Check out some of these amazing examples of roof decks and see if you won't be bit by the roof deck bug.
