LIRM Lifestyle Spot ~ The Beauty of a Brown Skinned Sister

As a man who loves and celebrates all types of women, I find as I am typing, that women are the glue that holds this world together. In a time when the media is pushing certain actions from our sisters it is important to recognize that the dark skinned sisters are running some things.

More blessed sisters of color after the jump

Growing up in my strong household, I was raised by a strong African American woman who ruled her broad well. I can still remember the day that my mother informed me that I would have a little sister or brother. Being a self absorbed kid who was so use to it being me and my mom, I was a bit hesitant upon the news.

Once that bambino came thru the door and I laid eyes on my little sister, I was hooked forever. Every time I look at my sister I see this beautiful woman with a smooth dark complexion who radiates beauty. Not only did she bless me to view her beauty on a regular basis but she blessed our family to look upon another brown skinned beauty two years ago.

As a teenager, I was what one would call "color struck" due to the fact that I often chose my mates based off of various magazines and videos. One of the most amazing things about the dark skinned sisters is that they exemplify style and grace.

You can see that skin color mixed with talent from a mile away and it is almost as if the skin simply glows for days. I myself am blessed to be able to look upon a beautiful brown skinned sister and just gaze at her beauty. Some of the most successful sisters have come in the form of a chocolate sister who can move mountains, bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan.

I am so humbled and honored to be thought of amongst some very powerful women.

Often, we as women of color downplay who we really are and what we are made of, just to keep certain folks happy.

Thank you for seeing beyond the outter man and focusing on the gifts and talents so many of us aren't appreciated for.

I salute you and know without a doubt that only great things will come your way, as long as you allow them too.
