Dame Ella Fitzgerald- Iconic Vocals

Growing up I had the awesome blessed privilege of having an amazing Grandmother who introduced me to various types of music. Between her and my uncles, I was overwhelmed with all types of music from Classical all the way to gangsta rap.

I keenly remember my grandmother often putting on a album and the voice that came out the speakers would make me stop dead in my tracks. That voice was none other than the Iconic Ella Fitzgerald and it was lethal to those who tried to mimic or copy the uniqueness that was Dame Ella.

She was a blessed and beautiful woman who always appeared on stage with a tremendous amount of grace and poise but it was when she open her mouth that the true gift shined forth. Ella was able to scat with the best of them and you best believed she blazed a path that has not been touched since she transition from this life.

In a time where it is not important to know your history to be a singer, I find it positively amazing that we have someone who has been gone quite a while but yet her gift is a strong as ever.
