2011 Essence R&B Star ~ Amazing Selections

This blogger is kicking myself as I type this post due to the fact that I have ONCE AGAIN missed out on the dopeness that is Essence Music Festival. It is truly sad that I have yet to experience what the festival is all about due to the fact that I am only four hours away. Yearly thousands upon thousands gather in the spicy city of New Orleans, Louisiana to see and celebrate the talents that are our own.

From Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Patti Labelle all the way to Sir Al Green, the city is gonna be filled to the brim with fans, friends and family who come out to dance the days and nights away. Essence has went further this year with the Essence R&B Star contest hosted by none other than legendary singer/songwriter Peri "Pebbles" Reid.

Weekly we have seen and heard those via the Essence site who can belt out a tune like no other. It is actually kind of tough to see who may or may not make the cut but it is equally exciting to witness Peri mold and encourage the future artist on various tasks and topics.
