Growing up in the south there are many things that are seared in my mind concerning my upbringing.



As I have often blogged, I am blessed to be able to have amazing experiences that enhanced my views on the world. While everyone has their own special childhood memories to call their own, this blogger can honesty say that my life has been enriched in many ways.

One of my most vivid memories consists of enjoying breakfast with my mother and my sister. Now please don't get it twisted, I absolutely love my mothers cooking but this post is about the experience of the location of the breakfast.

Being that we stayed in a unique home made all the more difference when it came to the class of it all. I can still remember waking up to the fresh fruit, pancakes, orange juice and perfect toast to get my day started. What made it all the more amazing had to be the breakfast nook that my mom always had us sit and partake at.

In a time where we see various seating areas that run the gamut of super intimate, intensely modern as well as spacious, I find that these selections can actually bring individuals together during a time when everyone is always on the go.

My mother made sure that me and my precocious sister always shared with her what we were experiencing daily. Being that I am the oldest, I was always the one who had to entertain the most questions and my mother was always in my business.

 Even to this day my mother has a simple breakfast nook for us to eat at whenever we come over to visit and as she has always done, I find myself sharing with her what I have on my professional plate. Please note that before the dinner is over this blogger is receiving tough love from his mother.
