LIRM Vintage Video ~ Dame Albertina Walker & Patti Labelle/Caravans - REST IN PEACE

As I sat at lunch with a family member, I began to express my sadness at the passing of the Unsinkable Albertina Walker. As we continued our conversation within the confines of  the crowded restaurant, I had to explain who this gospel pioneer is.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Dame Albertina Walker under the watchful eye of the Iconic Mahalia Jackson would learn various aspects of the gospel industry and flourished as a trailblazer.


She would go on to be instrumental in the creation and success of the world renowned "Caravans" who I personally had the blessed privilege of experiencing live.  Even though she is no longer with us, her gifts and talents will be forever embedded in society's heart as well as our minds.
