LIRM Artistic Spotlight- Remembering Dame Beverlee McKinsey

Some say her voice was like Honey mixed with nectar once you heard it for yourself. She had a presence that is missed from the stage and screen and she had a quaility that is missing in daytime television today.

The person that I am speaking of is none other than a daytime icon in the form of the Late Beverlee McKinsey.

More about this Legend after the Jump!

I clearly remember watching a Clint Eastwood movie entitled "Bronco Billy" and seeing her grace the screen as she played the role of a cunning stepmother out to steal her step-daughters inheritance. I was instantly hooked on her silky voice and her amazing talent.

Beverlee was also know for standing up for herself as she dealt with sexism in the world of daytime and nighttime television. No matter what role she played, she gave 100% and left us viewers yearning for more from her arsenal of talent.

She starred in various television productions but she is most recognized for her brillant portrayal of Iric Cory Carrington on "Another World" and Alexandra Spaulding on "Guiding Light". Some of her most tour de force performances came as Alexandra realized that her husband had tricked her and cheated her out of millions.

Up until her last appearance on the show, Beverlee gave the audience her all and she never held back. Sadly, she passed away in 2008 and thankfully we have a catalouge of her work to keep us entertained for  many years to come.

Check out some of her most spine tingling scenes that are sure to show you her range.
