Wynton Marsalis Set To Honor Clark Terry With Free Concert In New Jersey + Ciara Covers Shape Magazine September Issue
Musician Clark Terry name is synonymous with music and excellence around the country. The former Tonight Show band member passed away this past February from complications due to diabetes but his star is still shining with amazing tributes still coming in to this day.
The Saint Louis native blazed a trailer like no other performing with iconic musicians/performers such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Quincy Jones throughout his career. Another musician who is honoring the late trumpeter is that of Wynton Marsalis who is gearing up for a performance with the New Jersey City University Alumni Jazz Band honoring Mr. Terry.

Via press release the event will be led by NJCU Professor Richard Lowenthal and is due to be held at the J. Owen Grundy Pier in Jersey City, on Thursday, September 10 at 6:30 p.m.The Alumni Band will feature musicians who studied at the University from the late 1960s to the present. Perfomrmers such as Rich DeRosa (sax players Mark Friedman, Daryl Dixon, and Bob Magnuson; trumpeters Vinnie Cutro and Nathan Eklund; and trombonists Rob Edwards, Danny Hall, Conrad Zulauf and many more.
