The story of Emmett Till is one that still rocks people to their core and one that should have been told years ago. Till was murdered savagely in 1955 at the age of 14 after whistling at a white woman in rural Mississippi. His mother Mamie Till made sure that his death was never forgotten thanks to the tireless efforts to bring awareness to his murder.
In a bold move, Ms. Till made sure to keep her murdered sons remains on display via an open casket at his funeral to show the importance of the level of violence and the state of where the world was during that time. Award winning actress/talk show host Whoopi Goldberg, who garnered HUGE buzz on the Mom's Mabley documentary, is teaming up with filmmakers Keith A. Beauchamp and Frederick Zollo for a moving production entitled - Till.
The film, which is being funded thru kick starter, is one of three potential films that is poised for production which include Chaz Ebert's potential film based off the based off the best selling book Death of Innocence: The Story of the Hate Crime That Changed America by Christopher Benson which tells the fallen victim's story thru the eyes of his late mother.
