It's Friday night and you get home from work, throw your keys on the counter and get a drink from the fridge. It has been a rough work week and all you need is a pick me up.
You turn on your surround sound and what do you hear, a nice mid tempo groove sure to make you snap your fingers. Your shoulders move, your head sways back and forth and before you know it, you are up dancing.
Your family members come in the room and wouldn't you know it, a bonafide Soul Train line has started. There is a mybrid of dance moves on the make shift dance floor such as: The Snake, Cabbage Patch and the all time favorite - The Harlem Shuffle!

There are very few singers that can get me up and at it in my home and cause me to start an unexpected party. There is one legend who make me cut a rug and that is Evelyn Champagne King.
Born in Bronx, New York, Evelyn comes from vocal royalty. By her teens, Evelyn had relocated to Philadelphia with her mother, and began singing in several groups. While working at Gamble & Huff's recording studio, she was "discovered" by producer T. Life, and went on to become one of the most popular R&B and disco singers of the late seventies and early eighties. And do not worry, Evelyn is still performing and still has a strong fan base including myself.
Check out one of my FAVORITE video of Evelyn frolicking in the sand with a bouncy dress on.
This video always made me feel good cause we all know not many of us could go to a beach back in the day. We have come a long way baby!!!!!
