Dame Leontyne Price- ICONIC Soloist

Today's video of the day comes from a Icon, Dame Leontyne Price has paved the way for many and is still singing. Born in Laurel, Mississippi, Price received excellent vocal training at an early age. It has been said that she sat enthralled in her stroller listening to her mother singing in the choir at the St. Paul Methodist Church in Laurel. Her formal music instruction began at age 5, when she started taking piano lessons.

Over the years, Price has won 15 Grammy Awards and has been on the cover of Time magazine as well as 27 other magazines publications.
