This episode opens with a homeless man being attacked by some dangerous goons in an alleyway. Just as the bad guys are about to finish off the homeless guy, they are met by a bright light and a modern day superman telling them to leave the man alone.
Nick & Sara arrive on the scene the next morning and find a dead body of a man dressed like a superhero. They also find a backpack which has a book of drawings inside that depict the dead guy battling the bad guys.
FOOTSTEPS:
Sarah processes the scene which consists of hundreds of footprints and they spot the homeless man staring at them while they work. They take him back to the office and find out the homeless man's name is Roger. Roger tells Sara that the dead guy looked like batman and he was the one who saved him.
The quest for answers to the footsteps kind of comes up empty but as we know? CSI always gets a good clue. Via surveillance footage they see the bad guys trashing businesses and vandalizing vehicles. They also find that there was a substance of grounded up walnuts on various footprints but they then find that there are two gangs engaged in battle around the neighborhood.
OUCH:
Finley notices via one of the broken windows that there is some blood left behind amid the vadilism and set off to trace it. They found a partial match of a convict in jail who's son is involved in vandalism. The son, who is sporting a wild purple mohawk, noticed the victim but confesses that he doesn't know anything about the dead guy.
FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET:
Ryan and Finley are searching for Roger the homeless guy and find two wannabe "superheros" in the alleyway. They are fast but not fast enough for Ryan to pull his gun and slow them down a bit. They are told that the dead guy, Brad, was murdered and his family is contacted.
Brad was focused on saving the good guys from the bad guys and that is what got him killed. His mom and her boyfriend/Brad's potential stepfather said that it was his calling and that Brad and the other superheos were friends and hung out all the time.
THE PEOPLE UNDERNEATH THE STAIRS:
The wanna be superhero's were always in the basement of Brad's parents home and explain that they were battling "the disciples" a group of bad guys terrorizing the neighborhood.
SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR MEDULLA OBLONGGATA:
The dead man Brad was killed by single blow to his Medulla Oblonggata and is was a quick and tragic process. The team then goes to look for a suspect who owns a red pickup truck and find the truck along with a dead truck driver smashed between the cab and the trailer of a huge 18 wheeler -
OUCH!!!
BETWEEN A ROCK AND HARD TRUCK:
The dead guy is found stuck between a serious truck and Nick deduces that Brad's friends may have killed the dead truck driver. The CSI team believe that the dead truck driver actually killed Brad and one of Brad's friends offed him in a painful way. Nick meets with Scott one of the superhero members and lets him know that he is a cold bloodied killer to his face. But Nick is wrong on this one!!!
THE ONE TRUE BATMAN:
In walks a police officer with the murder weapon taken from a suspect who is dragged in right behind him and wait for it. The suspect is none other than - wait for it -
The homeless guy!!!!
THE CLUB IT IS:
Roger the homeless guy found the murder weapon in a dumpster and the team find that there was butter, nutmeg, turmeric and various spices on it. What is then found out is that Seth, Brad's stepdad, is the one who actually had a hand in killing Brad.
Seth wanted the bad guys to rough Brad up but not kill Brad but something bad happened. Through flashbacks we see Seth finding Brad in the alleyway after getting roughed up and they began to argue and Brad figured out that Seth set him up. Brad tells Seth that he is telling his mom that Seth is a bad guy and Seth turns around and hits him in the head and kills him.
Seth then confesses that he killed the truck driver because he was blackmailing him with the knowledge of him setting up Brad.
Intense Episode!!!
