It's Wednesday night and we know what that means - EMPIRE TIME!!!
Let's get to it shall we:
LUCIOUS GOT A MEAN CANE: Lucious is seen watching his artist Tiana and another artist, tape a music video. Things seem tense between the two ladies and rightfully so and before long things take a turn and not for the best. The other artist manager is somewhat of a problem and begins to disrespect Lucious and his leadership skills. Lucious takes him to his trailer and commences to open up a nice can of whip ass.
AINT NO HOMEGOING LIKE BUNKIE'S HOMEGOING:
Lucious walks into Bunkie's funeral dressed like a cool pimp off the corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Crenshaw. Gladys Knight is seen singing like the songbird she is and brought the emotions out like no other.
Lucious stands up and gives Bunkie's eulogy and fakes tears and emotions. Lucious Lyons is a low down street hustler who made it to the big leagues dressed like Redd Foxx doing stand up.
ANDRE AND HIS BACKDOOR BUSINESS:
Andre heads over to the mayor's office and puts his manly wiles to work on the mayors trusted assistant. He manages to coerce her into doing just what he wants by turning her around and well giving her his low below - Listen us y'all - Andre is a common freak and his a secret manic depressive diagnosed man. He is dangerous and from where we sit? He is gonna do what it takes to make it to the top of the company by any means necessary.
After his Mayoral romp, Andre heads home to his wife and performs the SAME SEX act on his deceptive wife and guess what???? Homegirl is so power driven that she goes along with it knowing full well that he is banging the mayor's freaky assistant. Guess these ladies like the empire that Andre is selling?
SHRUGS
SOMEBODY CALLED THE COPS?:
The police manage to snare a witness to Bunkie's murder in the form of an eccentric homeless man who won't be worth the witness stand because of his ramblings and murmurs of poetry and what not. The detective heads back to talk to the homeless man later on and realizes that the killer is Lucious.
NAOMI CAMPBELL RUNWAY WALKS THE SCENE:
Hakeem is in the club with his young potential girlfriend, Tiana, who Lucious desires for him to stay with for the sake of fame and gets a text from Camilla, played by Naomi Campbell who in one full sweep steals the scene just with her legendary runway walk. Hakeem is later seen on top of the pool table *ratchet alert* with Camilla who lets him know that he is the chosen one in the family and Hakeem later calls him momma.
Mannnnnnn!!
COOKIE GONE DRAG ANIKA:
Cookie brings her parole officer in the offices of Empire in the hopes of swaying Lucious and Anika's crafty eye. Little does Lucious know but they are setting things in order so that the feds can get a closer look at things. The heat and lust between Cookie and Lucious is so STRONG and something tells us that they will be knocking boots in the boardroom real soon.
PUMA AKA CUBA:
Cookie manages to find her longtime friend Puma, played by guest star Cuba Gooding Jr, and heads over to his ranch to see him. Puma is feeling Cookie like a oreo cookie looking for a nice glass of milk but Cookie has other plans. She tells Puma that she needs a GOOD single for her son Jamal and after some gentle prodding Puma lets her know he's sending over a new jam for her baby boy.
COOKIE'S PRAYER LIFE IS ON FLEEK:
Lucious has the family over to compound for dinner including Jamal's boyfriend which pisses Lucious and his homophobia off. Cookie sets the dinner off with a shady but sincere prayer to God for her family as well as telling hoes aka Anika that set her up but not before letting shady Anika know that she is the head of the family and is taking Anika's seat.
MESS WITH COOKIE IF YOU WANT TOO!!
JAMAL IS HIS MOTHER'S CHILD:
Cookie calls the family into the family room with the intention of Jamal knocking their socks off with the song she got from Puma. Clearly Lucious is touched but his greed and unforgiveness gets the best of him and before long he shoots down Jamal's talents and tells him he would have a better career as a songwriter. Jamal shoots back and lets his wayward father know that he is washed up and he is better than him times 1000.
Later on Jamal gets a visit from his father at his fashionable loft and as the convo continues Jamal lets him know that he beat him since he was a baby. Lucious is clearly removed from reality and judges his son for being gay and Jamal boldly kicks his ass to curb by letting Lucious know that his obedience is not for sale. After Lucious reminds him that he pays his bills, Jamal and his boyfriend bounce looking for a new place to stay but not before Jamal tells his boyfriend that he is gunning for Lucious's empire.
JAMAL IS THE CHOSEN ONE PEOPLE!!
SOMEBODY CALL THE PILL MAN:
Cookie catches Lucious struggling to open his trusty meds and once again he covers with witty lies. Cookie is almost on to his illness and knowing her she will find it soon and use it to her advantage or will she? Cookie lets him know that he can't hide from her.
