'Jess Is Throwing Things" Secrets and Lies "The Mother" Episode Recap

Boy Oh Boy it's time for our weekly recap of the ABC breakout hit Secrets and Lies and as usual we were left with our mouths wide open.


Let's get into the dysfunction of it all:

$150,000 Hustle:
Ben and Christy - once again - get into a heated argument concerning the money he found last week. He tells his suddenly independent wife that he would only give her the money unless she gives him his kids etc. Christy is not having it and serves ole Ben the standard bargaining chip - D.I.V.O.R.C.E. papers and walks out like a wounded potential divorcee.

Pesky Dave shares with Ben that he is just about tired of being there for Ben, defending him and what not, knowing full well that Ben will run right back to Christy. Dave tells Ben that he also believes that Christy could be framing her husband and is doing it for her image.

PREACH DAVE - WE THINK?


CORNELL IS TURNING THE TIDE:
Pesky Detective Cornell is - AFTER ALLLLLL THIS TIME - now starting to think that just maybe Ben is not the guilty one here. She's starting to piece together some clues that she should have pieced together in the very beginning including a PROPER scope of the murder scene.

She finds some evidence that she didn't spot the first time which turns the tide of the entire case. She and her CSI like partner figure out that Tom's killer is a woman?????  Sweet Jesus - Wonder if the sweet little lady, Elaine, whose husband tortured Ben a few weeks ago, is the killer of the handsome kid? Is it his own mother - Jess-  based off what her sister said today is not who we think she is and should be handled with kid gloves?

Cornell decides to take a drive over to Christy's brother's spot and sees Christy with a potential boo thang Sam - who Abby almost confesses is her mother's boyfriend???? As they are being grilled like a burger on a BBQ pit they began to mess up the time frame - OK LIE - of where they both were when Tom was knocked off.

MICHEAL IS MESSY:
Christy's brother Michael is one strange dude and tonight we see how messy he can be when Abby tells her dad that she overheard her uncle Michael saying her dad loved Jess. Ben confronts the intrusive brother and rips him a new one - Ben doesn't play about his kids y'all. Ben comforts his potentially dangerous youngest daughter and lets her know that no matter what he and her mom love her.

ABBY IS NOT TO BE PLAYED WITH:
Abby and Ben head over to the town carnival and fireworks event and wouldn't you know it? Jess's car won't start and Ben - being the EVER upstanding guy - asks Jess to come along. Abby is not having it with the mistress and before long she is doing EVERYTHING she can to keep Jess at bay during the night. This child is clearly hiding some things and one of them just might be murder but she's soooo sweet that we can't wrap our minds around it. Ben needs to get his shit together concerning Jess is you ask us because he's dragging his young daughter down a tortured road of mental instability.


PICTURES TELL A THOUSAND STORIES:
Once Ben leaves his daughter he and Jess *Side Eye* head back to her house and you know what happens. You guessed it - They had MAJOR sex and what eventually comes up is that Jess just might be wanting to have another child by Ben.  Something tells us that Jess just might be mad woman especially after Ben spots a photo of Jess and Tom on the floor and instantly has a flashback of seeing the bloody jacket with Tom's blood on it.

Ben does what he does best - snooping thru Jess's things once she leaves her house and searches and searches and searches and searches until he finds some ashes in a fancy trunk and LOADS of mental medication. What he figures out is that she has ANOTHER - *INSERT DRAMATIC FAINT* - dead baby that nobody knows about. See the problem with Ben is that he doesn't know how to confront people and before he can run out the door? Jess is throwing things and by things we mean: Glass, furniture and most importantly - Scissors!!!!!

YIKES!!!!!


YOGA MOMENTS:
Ben eventually heads over to Jess's sisters yoga spot and they trade info and her sister confirms that Jess is bipolar and likes to throw things but she's insistent her sister is NO killer.  Ben gets a call from his "could be/couldn't be" cheating wife and they find out that Abby is missing. Ben is racing to find his daughter and then spots demented Jess standing out in the her yard with a wicked smirk on her face.

Ben confronts her as she locks herself in her home and tells Ben that now he knows how it feels to have a missing child. Across town at the police spot, Cornell has FINALLY figured out who killed Tom but she wouldn't say the name but we know it's a woman?????????

DAMN IT!!!!!!
