"Abby Is About to Crack" Secrets and Lies "The Cop" Recap

FINALLY!!!


We have been missing the dysfunctional antics of Detective Cornell's pursuit of wayward Ben due to a quick hiatus BUT things are back and in full effect. Now people we gotta do what we gotta do to get this show to return once the finale hits in a few weeks. We know that it's suppose to be just a quick season and then that's it but we can't imagine life without Cornell's antics for justice.

The last time we saw Ben he was throwing a mean left or right hook to the face of Jim the shady reporter who stirred the pot and got Ben into some dangerous trouble.

So lets get into this weeks masterpiece shall we:

HELP:
Jim tells Ben that he needs his help in taking Cornell down because the crafty detective has been abusing her privileges as a cop. The vengeful reporter confesses that Cornell set him up and he ended up spending four years in jail because of it.

YES MOMMIE DEAREST:
Ben finally caves and decides to partake in the take down of Cornell and starts by visiting Cornell's daughter in jail. Her daughter lets Ben know that her mom lost a case of another man who was thought to have done some horrible things to a kid and she hunted him down like a skilled sharpshooter.  She further tells him that he needs to watch is back because mommy dearest is no joke and will win at any cost. Later on, Cornell summons Ben to the police station and implores him to confess to Tom's murder but he mentally stands up to the shady cop lady because this week? Ben not having the shenanigans from the pesky cop lady.


JESS IS EXTRA FOR NO REASON:
Ben heads home after the jail visit and finds Christy and Jess in the family kitchen with somber faces. After Jess departs Christy informs him that she came over to apologize for sleeping with her husband which resulted in Tom's birth nine months later. HOLD UP! Now say what now????

Poor Ben not only is battling a nutcase of a policewoman but he also has to deal with his mistress WALKING UP in his house and apologizing to his already fed up wife about an affair he had.

JESS PLEASE?? Did you knock off your own kid?????

BACK OFF BEN:
Ben decides to take it upon himself to find out about the other guy who ended up being mentally and physically chased down by Cornell. He visits his family's home and meets his wife, whom he remembers seeing weeks ago in the police station, and she gives him the full report on the wayward husband much to the chagrin of her two sons.

According to the wife Cornell chased down her husband and accused him of molesting/having inappropriate relations with a minor. The husband was hunted by Cornell - just like Ben is experiencing today - and he eventually committed suicide which left the family in shambles.

Not only is Ben dealing with a pesky pursuit from Cornell but he is struggling to be present as a husband and father. The family decides to head over to a Christmas shindig at Christy's brothers fancy home complete with exchanging Christmas gifts.

The dumb dad heads out into the woods and hides the murder weapon - the flashlight - in the woods which results in keeping the family waiting. Christy is looking upside her husbands head so hard that she could burn a gaping wound in the back of his head just like his fallen son.

She keeps asking and asking and asking him whats going on. Christy are you guilty??


LIES LIES AND MORE LIES:
Christy asks Ben what was he doing in the woods and he lies - AGAIN!! Ben is cool but ole boy clearly has a pattern when it comes down to telling the truth.  She tells him that she is super tired of his lies and asks him what is in the backpack? He won't confess and she tells him that he should leave the party, which he does.

Once he leaves he is intensely followed by a couple of cops who pull him over and tell him that he needs to leave Cornell's daughter alone. What the cops don't know is that Ben is hiding that pesky backpack under his leg. Once the cops take off Ben throws the backpack in the river and hopes like hell it won't be found but this is a show where things pop back up at the most amazing times.

KNOCK! KNOCK!:
The son of the suspect who killed himself shows up at the family home and tells Ben that his dad was actually guilty. The clearly broken young man says that he saw pictures that proved that his father was guilty of the crimes and because of Ben and Jim the entire world will know and for that he will never forgive him.


POOR JIMMY:
Cornell shows up to Ben's house *AGAIN*  and Abby is yelling at her to leave her family alone and most importantly her dad. Once the family is inside Cornell arrests Ben and they head over to the woods to search for the murder weapon with a shitload of cops. Wouldn't you know it - They come up with nothing. Ben notices a female policewoman who he spotted at Jim's home earlier in the episode and manages to mess up the entire flow of Jim's investigation of Cornell. The policewoman confesses and Jim is then sent back to the jailhouse.


ABBY IS ABOUT TO CRACK:
Christy and Ben have a HEATED argument where they both say things that they don't mean and Ben puts Christy out in a fit of anger. Listen Ben put his wife out in the rain and didn't think twice about it. Poor Abby is suffering so bad and clearly is heartbroken and may just be the person who knocked off her brother because she is showing serious signs of emotional distress.

It just breaks our heart to know that this poor girl who clearly loves her dad a bit more than her mom is watching this pandemonium unfold right before her eyes and there is nothing she can do about it.






Girl's a killer though!!! 



Ben figures out that Christy's brother called the cops on Ben because his sister shared her concerns about her husband which totally is normal right?????

**INSERT SARCASM**


Once again Ben is visited by pesky Cornell who just won't let up and comes with some more questions. She supplies Ben with video that shows him heading over to Jess's house on one of the nights that he can't remember.

Cornell exits dramatically!!!!
