"Murder, Glitter and Accusations" Secrets and Lies "The Affair" Review

Anybody else in love with the new hit ABC show Secrets and Lies starring Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis? It's an edge of the seat thriller that gives us viewers twists and turns on a weekly basis.



Some of tonight's tidbits:


STOP OR MY FRIEND WONT SHOOT:
Ben and his friend Dave are seen in the gun shop looking for a gun and are met by a stranger telling Ben that he hopes that he's buying the gun to kill himself. This shakes Ben to the core and he realizes that coming to buy a gun wasn't a good idea as he thought. Dave and Ben head home and Ben has to sneak into the house via the backyard because of the media posted up outside his house.

This family is clearly on edge as Natalie and her baby sister have a spirited argument which includes insults and accusations. Christy comes downstairs and is on her way out but like a mother in charge of her home shuts it all down with one statement which causes Natalie to run upstairs in disgust.


EARRINGS CAN YOU BUY ME NOW?:
Ben notices that Christy is dressed pretty nice these days and this includes some fancy new earrings which she says came from her client. Christy is dressed like a fancy stepford wife who just had her batteries in her back replaced. Clearly this lady is already over this marriage and rightfully so as her shady ass husband was banging the next door neighbor on a regular basis.

SISTA YOU BEEN ON MY MIND:
Ben heads over to Jess's house and after a nice conversation about loyalty and much more they head over to her sisters house after noticing that she is not answering her phone. Once they arrive they find her sister and Jess's estranged husband Scott knocking the boots like it's their last time on earth.


Jess and Ben call the pesky cop lady and they arrest Scott for the murder of Tom which infuriated Christy once Ben arrives home and lets her know of the arrest. Once again Ben is found sleeping on the couch and he is told by Christy that he can now stop investigating Scott and running up behind Jess.

Well Damn Christy!!!

Later on Ben flashes back to a time when he and Tom had a cute conversation about being scared of Santa Claus and Ben letting him know that Tom has the same courage as his father.  Later on Ben sneaks back over to Jess's house  - again- and tells her that he doesn't think that Scott is the killer. Ben vows to Jess that he will make sure he finds out who killed Tom.


MESSY!!!!


FLASHLIGHT:
Ben and the family, minus his obviously disconnected wife, are hanging Christmas decorations when his friend Dave asks for a ladder. *Dave is a red herring if we ever saw one and from where we stand he just might be a cold bloodied killer*  Anyway, Ben heads out to his trusty truck looking for the ladder and the missing murder weapon falls off the truck into his hands.

BRUH!!!!!!


Ben being the dumb suspect that he is take the flashlight into the house and proceeds to wipe off the blood and fingerprints. This dude doesn't even realize that he is being set up to take the fall for the murder of his young son by someone close to him.  Later on Ben tells Dave all about the missing flashlight showing back up. Dave tells him that he needs to get rid of the flashlight and he volunteers to dispose of it himself but to no avail.

Christy and Ben attends a Christmas event attended by some of their pretentious neighbors who paid Ben so much fade that the room turned cold. Abby and another neighbor kid get into a fight after the kid called Ben a baby killer. These neighbors are clearly a part of the top rated neighborhood watch because they are serious about getting Ben to confess.


Later in the day Ben goes for a run - again- and flashes back to the morning that he found Tom but is quickly jolted back to reality. Once he finishes his run he returns home to Detective Cornwell and Christy in his garage looking for the receipt to the pesky flashlight. Cornell is always at these folks house and staring Ben down like the messy homicide detective that she is.

Christy and Ben have an emotional argument where he ask her to stand by him for the sake of their daughters peace. Once Christy leaves Ben decides to wrap the flashlight in a box with Christmas wrapping and places it under the tree??

Now Say What Now?

THEM ARE SOME FIGHTING WORDS:
Ben is having major flashbacks to the day of Tom's murder and goes over to Tom's grave to speak to his fallen son. At the grave he is met by Scott who tells Ben that he has an alibi for the day of Tom's murder. Ben emotionally tells Scott that he didnt kill Tom and Scott lets him know that for his sake he hopes not.

CHRISTY IS CREEPING
Ben comes home later and lets Christy know that he arrives. She is in the bathroom getting all dressed up and looking good and asks her mentally strained husband to pass her the pretty dress on the bed. Once he does? He finds sexy lingerie and a pregnancy test in the bag as well. Now what us viewers must pay attention to is that Ben hasn't been having relations with his stepford wife so somebody else may have been milking the cow people!!!

Ben confronts Christy who lets him know that she will NOT be having an conversations regarding what he found in her bag.  He tries to be the tough guy and get her to stay but she lets him know that "they" will not be having that conversation right now.


You mad Ben????


DAMN TEENAGERS:
Ben gets wind from Abby that Natalie is out at a big house party and he finds her in a corner making out with a skinny frail dude. Ben cuts the make out session short and the frail guy swings at Ben with a quick right hook. Ben slings that kid around the room like a rag doll and tell him that if he ever sees him around Natalie he will kill him. Natalie goes completely off after Ben tells her to go to the car and says in front of the entire room of party animals, "Are you gonna kill me too?"

Obviously Abby is affected by the confrontation and says to Ben that she just wants things to go back to the way things used to be which gives us insight into this young child's mindset. Something tells us that she may have killed Tom after finding out that he was her brother. Ben lets Christy know that he figured out that the pregnancy test didnt belong to her but to their daughter Natalie. Before they could discuss it further there is a knock at the door and you guessed it-

Cornell's Ass AGAIN!!!!


She got video of the fight between Ben and that skinny frail kid at the party and she needs a statement from Dave. Ben knocks on Dave's door and he see's Dave covered in glitter from Natalie's compact case. He kicks Dave out in a spirited shouting match which is witnesses by that pesky Detective Cornell who offers Dave a ride.




Could Dave really be sleeping with Natalie?
Is he cross dressing in Natalie's heels and make up?
Is Christy setting her husband up to take the fall for Tom's murder?
