Nichelle Nichols Sits Down For Emmy Legends Interview

There are many things on the television screen these days that we can find entertaining. From the latest homes to purchase on the home improvement channels, the fashion do's and don'ts on the style channels and the good ole reality show circuit where we can see the inner workings of the latest wife and her daily life.

Many of us can remember the days of yesteryear when I saw not too many African American actors/actresses in major roles. You had the regular guys such as Bill Cosby in the I Spy series, Clarence Williams in The Mod Squad but they were few and far in between. There was one actress whose beauty and talent shined thru weekly in my household and she did it was dignity.

Nichelle Nichols rose to fame as Lieutenant Uhura on the cult hit show Star Trek. Hailing from Chicago, she has starred in various productions such as Porgy and Bess, written scores of musical numbers as well as written her memoir Beyond Uhura: Star Trek and Other Memories

Check out this inspirational and inspiring interview as Ms. Nichols share her memories of starring in the hit show, meeting Dr. Martin Luther King and being grateful for her influence on future actors.
