Happy 102th Birthday to the Late Dame Rosa Parks ~ Pioneer Fighter!!!!
February is designated as African American History Month and we are giving our readers a daily showcase of those trailblazing leaders who have made inroads and paved the way for us today.
Today marks the 102th birthday of the fearless Mrs. Rosa Parks who's refusal to give up her seat on a city bus to a caucasian passenger was pivotable to the civil rights movement in Montgomery, Alabama. Although this was not the first time a bold move like this was made, it garnered national attention and pushed Mrs. Parks to the forefront in America and beyond.
After being fingerprinted and booked, Mrs. Parks would go on to meet with the late icon Martin Luther King on ways to garner more independence which influenced him in various ways.
