Remembering Vesta Williams

In today's day and time it is clear that being a singer means looking a certain way and not really having raw talent. You can show a little skin, flaunt the latest fashions and viola, you are a successful artist. Today we showcase a singer who in her heyday held it down and had us all in love with her eclectic personality.



Vesta Williams started her career singing in various bands and doing amazing studio work with the likes of Legends and Icons such as: Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Stephanie Mills just to name a few.

She exploded onto the scene with her hit "Once Bitten Twice Shy" and allowed her star to shine bright with top ten hits such as Sweet Sweet Love and the chart Topping "Congratulations."

We were in love with her as she showed her comedic side on stage as well as her struggle with her weight issues. Many think that Vesta simply walked away from her gift and turned in her mic but that is not the case.

She continued to perform as well as well as release projects independently and we still loved her and deem her a bonafide Legend who can still hang with the best of them. Sadly we lost in 2011 but thankfully she left a legacy for us who love her.
