BET'S New Edition Biopic Scores MASSIVE Numbers

BET Network is in the winning business along with winning ratings after the premiere of the New Edition biopic "The New Edition Story" last night. The famed group are gaining more fans after the first installment of the three part mini series that chronicles the successes and struggles that come with being a part of legendary group.

The premiere telecast drew 2.5MM viewers P18-49, and 4.2MM total viewers P2+ on BET*. Simulcast on BET's sister network Centric. The biopic also scored a combined 2.6MM viewers  4.4MM total viewers across both networks.  It also was the highest rated and most watched telecast in five years, since 2012 with the Season 5 premiere of The Game.  The second installment continues tonight, Wednesday, January 25th at 9pm  and concludes Thursday, January 26th at 9pm. 

We can't leave out social media reach where fans took to all levels and dominated as the #1 most watch event via social media Tuesday, January 24th. On Twitter, BET and "THE NEW EDITION STORY" drove 12 of the top 20 trending topics of the night including #Betamax, #BobbyBrown, #CandyGirl, #MikeBivins, and #LukeJames.
