It's Time To Give Starz Breakout Series " POWER" It's Props
What we've been trying to figure out is why hasn't the super popular Starz drama Power been given it's props?
We have to confess that we didn't really embrace this series last season as we were on some other ish and for that we kicked ourselves. But thanks to our friends over at The Gorgeous Ingredient we have now been converted and for good reason - Show is BADASS!!
The show, created by Courtney Kemp Agboh, is the perfect balance of good vs evil complete with a glossy look into each character. The key character Ghost (Omari Hardwick) is attempting to pull double duty as the perfect businessman/husband all while maintaining, at any cost necessary, his place as the bad boy in the streets so to speak.
Last season we also saw Ghost going full speed ahead with a love affair or should be say a dangerous game with childhood friend Angela (Lela Loren) who just happens to be a US Attorney out to get the elusive drug dealer who also happens to be Ghost. Both characters are in love *major sex scenes alert* and what makes the drama so juicy is that Angela is on Ghost's trail and Ghost is trying to rise above it all and become a bigger player in the game.
What we also love is that each character is complex and desperate to keep their spot in life and not to go back to the struggle they came from. The cast perfectly cast with balance with stars such as Naturi Naughton as Ghost's wife Tasha and Joseph Sikora as Tommy. But wait y'all - we even see acting royalty in the form of Debbie Morgan who we believe should have more scenes as Tasha's somewhat worldly mother who has lived it all or so it seems.
Rapper/entrepreneur Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, who is also the executive producer of the show, is the villain of the show and kind of plays him with a mixture of an urban J.R. Ewing and villainous Svengali with a hint of compassion who is using his innocent son, who is Ghost's private driver and potential love interest of Tasha's, as a chess piece to get his spot back in the kingdom.
The new season kicks off June 6, 2015 on Starz and if you don't have that channel? You better call your cable provider and snatch it up because this show is a hit in our eyes.
