American Idol Is Heading For The Finish Line - Season 15 Will Be The Last

In a move that some may have seen coming Fox has decided to pull the plug on the on popular songfest American Idol.

In recent years the brand lost some core viewers and with original judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul leaving that didn't help either. Other issues somewhat put a bruise on the brand such as  the antics of hiring stars such as Mariah Carey and rapper Nikki Minaj who's battles on screen and behind the scenes put a damper on much heralded show.

The last season of “American Idol” will begin in January. The longtime host Ryan Seacrest will be joined this season by the judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.
