Queen Latifah Helmed "BESSIE" First Look + Nicki Minaj For Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2015

All Hail The Queen!!!

Dana Owens aka Queen Latifah is not letting the recent cancellation of her talk show get her down these days.

Latifah is prepping for the release of BESSIE a biopic via HBO that showcases the late singer/entertainer taken to early. Poised for release in 2015 the film also stars Monique, Charles S. Dutton, Khandi Alexander, Mike Epps and Tika Sumpter just to name a few.

Via The Queen Latifah Show, The film, written and directed by Dee Rees, is based on the life story of Bessie and how she became one of the most famous singers of the 1920s and ’30s, earning her the nickname “Empress of the Blues.”
