Kevin Costner gave the iconic Whitney Houston her starring role in the mega hit The Bodyguard and it was the first time a major production featuring an interracial theme was released internationally and this time around he is doing it again albeit in a different way.
Costner is teaming with Academy Award winning actress Octavia Spencer, Jillian Estell and Anthony Mackie to round out Black and White. The film features Costner as a grieving widower who is drawn into a custody battle over his interracial granddaughter, whom he helped raise her entire life.
Spencer is the the grandmother who thinks that the granddaughter should spend more time with her African American side of the family and eventually battles him for custody with the help of Mackie's character. According to Kevin, Hollywood didn't want to bankroll the production so he did it himself and judging from the trailer, he just might get a full return on his investment.
