Soap Moment: "The Winter's Adopt Devon"

Man oh Man! The soap opera dynamic has recently changed via the cancellations of various long running soap operas such as All My Children, One Life to Live and many more.


It's pretty tough to turn on the flat screen and find a scene where the characters literally make you stop what you're doing and take a seat to see what's next. There are endless scenes where the damsel in distress is rescued by her night and shining armor but then there are times where various story lines literally hug your heart like no other.

The year 2004 introduced us to the character of Devon Hamilton played by Bryton McClure on the top rated soap The Young & The Restless. From the jump the character fit perfectly in the world of the Winters family and before long, he became an integral part of the clan.

Victoria Rowell's character Drucilla eventually embraced the character and being that Victoria has experienced the challenges of the foster system herself, the storyline garnered rave reviews. These are the types of story lines that the viewers have been clamouring for and hopefully the soap god's will bring them back to their natural state including bringing Victoria's character back into the fold.
