LIRM Artistic Spotlight- Jane Elliott

The smooth skin, the stern looks and the talent to teach even the most inexperienced actor on the planet. Those are just some of the words that are used to describe the talents of the legendary actress Jane Elliott.

I can clearly remember a time when my grandmother would be glued to the television to see this amazingly talented actress. I was enamoured of this lady who came across the screen and dominated the entire scene with her ability to remain in character at all times and she always have an amazing hairstyle.

She would give the character more of an edge with her ability to be cunning as well as remain a woman who is desperate for the love and affection of those around her. The character of Tracy Quartermaine is a multidimensional character that is brought to life daily by this Emmy nominated actress and she makes it seem so easy.

Being the ultimate professional, Jane would go on to star in various daytime and nighttime shows including: Knots Landing, The Guiding Light and Days of Our Lives just to name a few.

I have always been fascinated by her realistic portrayal of each character which would embody class, desperation as well as a child like quality that is clear and precise.

Some of her key performances have been as her portrayal of Tracy Quatermaine as she faced various perils in the form of the yearning of her fathers love, the death of her mother and brother. Check out some of her best work and see if you won't agree that she knocks it out the park every time.
