Jeremy Brown ~ Role Model Photographer

The click of the camera, the posture of the muse and the intensity of the moment. These are just a few phrases that slightly describe the talents of Jeremy Brown, Owner of Brown Photography.

This young business owner has managed to make a positive name for himself in a short span of time and is clearly maintaining it all with a humble spirit. He can often be seen at various events throughout the city of Shreveport, Louisiana as well as throughout the United States of America.

I myself have witnessed his unique ability to bring the viewer into the picture as well as cause a thought process to develop as well. He is not the type of photographer to beg for an opportunity nor does he give his clients the basic package.

I recently had the great opportunity to interview him concerning his brand and how he maintains it all. I must say, this young entrepreneur has his head on straight and is destined to be a household name.

Check out this quick interview with this Role Model and see if you agree.

How did you get into photography?
Well, my dad use to do the job back when he was a little younger than he already is! When I was in 10th grade, my dad wanted to get back into photography pretty much as a hobby.

He purchased a new Canon camera and not soon after, I picked it up and started taking pictures around my high school. From there, it was a wrap and now I am here still doing it as a love and a job.

That is amazing man. Who are some of your mentors that you look up to in the area of photography?
The NAPP Website, my parents and absolutely anyone who supports and encourages me to keep pushing. I look up to all the famous/amazing people that are currently out there doing what they love and keeping a positive name for themselves in their industry.

How do you handle the stressful times when everyone needs a good picture from J. Brown?
If I can’t handle them all, I’ll simply inform the client or I will direct them to my great reference list on the http://www.wildjbrown.zenfolio.com/ website.

Being a young African American Businessman, what have been some of the positive challenges of being a business owner?
That would be learning all the paperwork behind the scenes such as taxes, etc. Also just staying focused on what I do. I do have my fun times also though!

That’s it! You must enjoy yourself. What would you tell that young man/woman who has a desire to be a photographer?
Simply put: Make your pictures mean something! Make that photo talk without words! Anyone can get a camera and call themselves a photographer!

How do you deal with your critics?
I just do me. People will always talk.

What is your favorite camera to use to shoot that dynamic picture/pose?
CANON! All day everyday!!!!!

Where do you see yourself in the next four years?
Still living in the great city of Shreveport, Louisiana but doing jobs with world-wide celebrities and companies.

What are you doing to give back in your community?
I host raffles every few months. In the past, I have given away Mac Laptops and Ipad’s via Raffle Tickets. That always makes me feel good to bless others.

This past weekend, I saw Mr. Brown in action as he took pictures during a stylish wedding ceremony. I watched as he stayed true to his god given gift and he did it all with a smile and humbleness. That alone makes him a Role Model as well as a Legend in the making.
