2012 BET AWARDS Honors Whitney Houston

February 11, 2012 will go down in history as one of the saddest days on earth as we mourned the loss of a national treasure in the form of Whitney Houston. Anyone who knows us here at LIRM can truly tell you that we love and honor our dear Nippy.

There have been numerous awards shows where the fans were waiting with baited breath for a proper tribute and time after time we were left wanting more. Thankfully BET's Debra Lee heard the masses and put together a fitting tribute that brought together some of Whitney's most favorite people.


The room was filled with electricity as good friends Mariah Carey, Waiting to Exhale co stars Angela Bassett, Lelah Rochon and Loretta Devine spoke of their friendship with Whitney. The love was felt strong with amazing performances from Chaka Khan, Monica, Brandy, her brother Gary Houston and most importantly, her mother Dr. Emily "Cissy" Houston. Let us just put it out there and say, "Mother Houston brought it on home".
