Gospel music fans were rocked to their core today as news hit via social media that famed gospel singer/actress Lucretia Campbell passed away.

Fellow gospel singer Ted Winn broke the news via Facebook concerning Campbell and her health which actually was beginning to get better. Campbell, who began singing at the tender age of 8 years old, is a staple in many gospel music arenas with such hit songs as Perfect Praise (How Excellent) with the Soul Children of Chicago, Stand Still Till Your Will Is Clear with Wilmington Chester Mass Choir and a plethora of others.
Not only a gifted singer who could move the move stifled crowd, Campbell also got her chops in stage productions such as Mr. Right Now, Dreamgirls and much more. Shortly after Winn's declaration Campbell's family released a heartfelt statement officially announcing her death and the love that she possessed in spirit and life.
