Mavis Staples Documentary #MAVIS Headed to HBO

Musical icon Mavis Staples is in the news today as we learned that the famed singer is about to be highlighted with an insightful documentary via HBO.

The rhythm and blues songstress's life and times will be highlighted with MAVIS a documentary that showcases her 60 year career and gives insight into the struggles and strengths of the songstress. The world famous Hall of Famer's musical friends such as Bob Dylan, whom Staples shared a private love affair with years go, Bonnie Eaitt, Chuck D and loads more will being sharing their love for the singer/actress.  Directed by Jessica Edwards, the documentary premieres Monday, February 29, 2016 at 9pm

In conjunction with the film's HBO debut, her new album, "Livin' on a High Note," will be released by ANTI- on Feb. 19.
