Actor Laurence Fishburne's schedule is sure to be pretty full with his role as Pops on the hit comedy series Blackish, his upcoming role as Alex Haley in the History Channel remake of the cult miniseries of ROOTS and now with news that the famed actor is taking on another role of a cult figure.
The internet is buzzing with reports that According to Deadline, Fishburne will be taking on the role of Nelson Mandela for BET in a miniseries based off a combination of writings from the late leader Conversations With Myself & Nelson Mandela by Himself.
The film will chronicle Mandela's life as a young freedom fighter who is dealing with the pains and struggles that his country is facing. The production will air over several nights with filming beginning sometime in 2016.
