Man oh man, how we miss our beloved Whitney Houston aka "Nippy" to her family. It seems like things are not the same musically these days since she passed away.

Imagine how tough it must be for her family having to go thru this life with her no longer here. Lifetime network has decided to allow us into their lives with an intimate and hopefully uplifting look at her immediate family.

Premiering October 24, 2012, the series The Houston's: On Our Own chronicles the family led by matriarch Emily "Cissy" Houston along with Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, her brother and sister in law Gary and Pat Houston, picking up the pieces without having Whitney around. Expect to see appearances from several friends and family throughout the series.

There are rumblings of many people judging the series before even watching the first episode but seems as though Whitney's family wants us to know another side of her and them than what has been reported by the media.
