Daytime/Nighttime soap fans are on the edge of their seats as their favorite heroine in the form of Genie Francis is prepping to return to the television tube. Many of us who are her fans were waiting with baited breath for her to return to her old stomping grounds as the iconic character of Laura Spencer but things have gotten better. 


Beginning in May, Genie will be joining the cast of the top rated soap The Young & The Restless as Genevieve Ashby. According to set insiders this role is unlike any role that she has played during her years as an actress. During a recent Oprah appearance, Genie stated that she is tired of playing the role of a victim and judging for the breakdown of the character, she is not a pushover.
