Viola Davis & Julius Tennon's THE LAST DEFENSE set for Tribeca Film Festival




Husband and wife duo Julius Tennon and Viola Davis are executively producing a timely documentary entitled The Last Defense which is set to premiere at the famed Tribeca Film Festival.

The documentary will be shown at the film festival Friday, April 27 and feature the first episode shining a light on the case of Julis Jones,  a star college athlete convicted of shooting a father of two at point-blank range as his attorneys race against the clock to get him a new trial before his execution date is set courtesy of ABC Networks.



The seven episodes the series will explore the flaws within the justice system in the United States and go in depth regarding death row cases, the inmates and the struggle to understand it all.

Sharing executive producer credits with Tennon and Davis  also include XCON & Lincoln Square Productions. After the screening the couple will give insightful conversation regarding the project with the audience.
